What we sell

Knitted socks for people who stand through a working shift, sold to consumers worldwide in USD. There are 45 products across six lines, distinguished by terry loop height in millimetres, fabric weight in grams per square metre, shaft height in centimetres and fit.

These are socks, not personal protective equipment. They provide no protection against workplace hazards. Nothing on this site falls within Regulation (EU) 2016/425, and we do not reference any protective standard, because none of them apply to socks. If your work requires certified protective equipment, your employer must supply equipment that meets the applicable standard. Read this in full on Werk en schoenen.

We also make no medical claims of any kind. No product on this site treats, prevents or improves any condition.

Category statement

This is ordinary textile retail. Our business does not involve gambling, adult content, lending or money transmission, cryptocurrency, firearms or ammunition, tobacco or alcohol, pharmaceuticals, weapons, financial investment, regulated medical treatment, fireworks or explosives, or any goods that infringe third-party intellectual property.

Textiles and materials

Fibre composition is listed on every product page in descending order by weight, using the legal fibre names required by Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011. Where a product is described as merino, the wool in it is merino. We do not use fibre names that are not legal names.

UPV Textiel: Extended producer responsibility registration for textiles — To be completed by the operator before launch. The Dutch extended producer responsibility scheme for textiles applies to anyone who places textile products on the Dutch market, from the first item. Registration with Stichting UPV Textiel and annual reporting must be completed by the operator of this site before products are placed on the Dutch market.

Country of manufacture

The country of manufacture is stated on the sewn-in label of each pair. We do not describe these socks as Dutch made.

Prices and tax

All prices are shown in USD and include Dutch BTW at 21% for consumer sales. Shipping is shown separately before you confirm an order and is free on orders over $70 USD by standard service. Import duties and taxes outside the EU are not included and are payable by the recipient.

Complaints and disputes

Write to support@sockshousenl.baby with your order reference. We respond within five working days.

Consumers in the Netherlands can get independent information about their rights from ACM ConsuWijzer, the consumer information service of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (Autoriteit Consument & Markt).

Dispute scheme: Membership of a Dutch disputes committee or trade mark scheme — To be completed by the operator before launch. We do not display membership of De Geschillencommissie or Thuiswinkel Waarborg, because membership is voluntary and claiming it without having joined would itself be a misleading commercial practice.

Applicable law

Dutch law applies to contracts formed through this site. Where you are a consumer resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence are not affected by this choice.
